Welcome Home, Inc., mid-Missouri's only emergency homeless shelter for Veterans, broke ground on its new site today. The groundbreaking was made possible by private fundraising from multiple individuals, companies and foundations, including a $ 1.5 million donation from the employees of Veterans United Home Loans.
The new Thogmorton Center for Allied Health on the Fayette campus of Central Methodist University will be dedicated on Saturday, Oct. 3. It is the first academic building added to the campus in more than 50 years. The dedication will begin at 11 a.m., and all are invited to come.

PWArchitects, Inc., a commercial architecture firm that offers customized design solutions to their clients, announced today that they will be moving their architectural office to a new building in southwest Columbia.
Excerpt from article in Columbia Missourian: "A new early childhood learning center for children in the Columbia Public School District is set to break ground on Sept. 28. The center will be for children from birth to 5 years old. The center will occupy 54,000 square feet in northern Columbia on the property of Lange Middle School."
Eric Roselle of PWArchitects, Inc. (PWA) recently passed his final Architect Registration Exam to become a licensed architect in Missouri. He has served as a Project Architect since joining PWA and taken on many project design and management responsibilities.
COLUMBIA, MO (August 11, 2010) - The city of Columbia announced today that it has been awarded LEED certification on Columbia Fire Station #9, with a Gold rating by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Completed in 2009, Fire Station #9 at North Providence and Blue Ridge is the city’s newest station.
