Fire Station No. 2

PWA worked in a Design-Build arrangement with KAT Excavation for the Sni-Valley Fire Protection District. The project, located in Bates City, Missouri, replaced their existing station #2, which did not adequately serve the district’s needs. The new station comprises 6,168-SF, single-story slab-on-grade pre-engineered steel structure, with stone veneer and metal siding. The station has 5 sleeping rooms, a day room, a kitchen, a weight room, a Captains’ office, a work room, and restrooms in the living space. The apparatus bay consists of 2 double-deep bays, set up to accommodate future overhead doors at the back of the bay for a drive-through. The decontamination room and one restroom with a shower double as a storm shelter.
