The first facility of its kind in central Missouri, this building will be a collaboration between Ranken Technical College and Southern Boone Schools.

The Nature School will be an opportunity for fifth graders throughout Boone County to be immersed in experiential, nature- and place-based learning. The project is the result of a partnership between Columbia Public Schools and the Missouri Department of Conservation. Land for the school was donated by Hank Waters and Vicki Russell. Phase One construction includes the building of the pavilion, funded by the Missouri Department of Conservation, and construction of the Council House, made possible by a gift from the Audubon Society.

Grant Elementary School Addition and Renovation will be a two-story addition on the South end of the existing classroom wing that will include 3 general classrooms as well as Art, Music, Pre-school, Kindergarten, ELL, and SPED classrooms. 

Beulah Ralph Elementary School, Columbia’s 21st elementary school, was developed in an effort to address overcrowding in other schools such as Mill Creek Elementary School, eliminate the need for trailer classrooms, and reduce class sizes.

The Columbia Public Schools' Early Childhood Learning Center is a 54,000 sq. ft. multistory new school building in northern Columbia on the property of Lange Middle School at 2201 Smiley Lane.

The Eco Schoolhouse, an energy-efficient building designed as an alternative to trailer classrooms offers the public a tangible example of Grant Elementary School's sustainability focus.

This new school project included programming, work sessions, spatial relationship diagrams and initial schematic design drawings and construction administration. The new school was completed in August of 2015.

The new addition at Rock Bridge High School includes an auxiliary gym, weight room, wrestling room, varsity football locker room and three team locker rooms.

The new gym and classroom addition at Hickman High School includes a competition gym, a 2,200 seat football grandstand, and a two-story building housing classrooms for vocational studies.

With aspirations to increase the private school options in the region, the Diocese of Jefferson City hired the PWA team to develop a master plan and designs for a new Regional Catholic High School in Columbia, Missouri.

With a design that has acheived the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED^® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certification, the Eco Schoolhouse has become a teaching tool, allowing students to see, touch, and learn about the building's environmental and socially sustainable components.

This first phase of a multi-phase project for the Southern Boone County School District included one new building and improvements to various buildings on the school district's three separate campuses.
