The new Boone County Emergency Operations facility, to be run by the county and located at the back of the county’s facility property near the county jail and sheriffs annex, joins the forces of the previous city and county EOCs into an integrated facility that will serve the community for decades to come.
The J.W. “Blind” Boone Residence is a significant part of Columbia’s history. The recognition of this building lies not only in the memory of the native Missouri artist, pianist, and philanthropist John William Boone, but also in the history of the African-American community in Columbia.

The new 12,826 sq. ft. fire station on Rock Hill Road in Jefferson City is a 1 story, 3-1/2-bay Craftsman-style building with two small mezzanines in the apparatus bay for storage.
PWA worked with Walker Parking Consultants/Engineers, Inc. on this 5-level parking garage located in downtown Columbia, Missouri. The Short Street garage includes 423 parking spaces, of which nine are designated for handicap parking.
PWA worked with the State of Missouri, roofing consultants and roofing contractors to complete the roofing replacement and parapet restoration project on the Missouri State Capitol Building.
Formerly a part of the Kemper Military School, the historic 54,000 square foot Johnston Field House is currently home to the Boonslick Heartland YMCA and contains a cardio theater, weight room, aerobics room, 25-yard indoor pool, indoor batting cage, office space and 3 basketball courts.
The City of Boonville, Missouri considered several options and then hired PWA and Counsilman-Hunsaker to develop the design for an outdoor leisure pool with a concessions building, bathhouse, shading canopies and a pump house.
The Lake of the Woods Fire Station, best exemplifies the firm’s philosophy in small Fire Station design. Within it’s 7,654 square feet of enclosed space, you will find all the required functions for a station of this size including four bays for vehicular apparatus.
Midway Fire Station 9 kicked off the expansion of the Boone County Fire District. Completed in the summer of 2001 this station added 4 new apparatus bays and a residential living area that contains 8 sleeping rooms and a community room for use by the fire fighters and the general public.
