Parks & Recreation Vehicle Maintenance Facility
In early 2012, PWArchitects, Inc. and Trabue, Hansen & Hinshaw, Inc. completed a building inspection by of the City of Columbia’s Fleet Operations maintenance facility located adjacent to the Parks and Recreation Department found a severe termite infestation. Further inspections determined the over 70-year-old building also had structural issues that forced the closure of the building and the decision to build a new, state of the art fleet maintenance building. Since the City was also beginning the process to add Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles to the fleet, the City decided to also incorporate the necessary National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes to allow for maintenance of CNG vehicles.
